Sense of a place

Did you ever imagine waking up in the place you ever dreamed to be? To be able to feel and to sense that everything will go exactly as you imagined?
Well, this happened to me years ago. And for 11 days I thought I was dreaming and I didn't want to get back in the plane and wake up from that amazingly beautiful dream.
I was at the end of my high-school years when I received the most amazing news ever. I was accepted in an exchange program in France. My dream country, the place I always wanted to go.
And there I was 1 month later waking after a long journey and a very tiring flight and seeing the most beautiful sun rising ever. That house and that place will always remain in my heart as my dearest memory of all.
The family I stayed at, bought and remodelled a very old house from louis 14th era. Not only that the place was big with more than 10 bedrooms, 2 offices, 4 bathrooms and a very old style kitchen, but also it made you imagine yourself having dozen of servants serving you in the bed every morning.
For me waking up and seeing the old wallpaper style everyday and taking a shower in thw old type of bathtub made me imagine myself in the era of big gawns and dukes.
Since I was little I loved France for their bread and patisseries. I always imagined their smell of fresh baked dough filled up with chocolate or jam. And for 11 days every morning after I woke up in that Renaissanced home and prepared to go to school I was eating freshed patisseries brought by my friend's dad from their own
"boulangerie" and drunk orange juice.
The best memory I've ever had in that house was the feeling of smelling the authentic French food made by the parenta, together in a romantic way. The wine that we drunk at every meal together with the amazingly good and popular cheese. The cream soup that makes my month watery only when I think about it, the sea fruits tarts and the turkey filled with little potatoes will always stay in my mind, maybe even after I die. France is well known for its own food, wine and cheese, but believe me, nowhere in the whole France can taste the best of their food than in a traditional French family.
My favourite place in the whole world and my dearest memory will be those 11 days in France in that Renaissanced house, eating that amazing food made with so much love. I don't think I can actually explain how I felt and how my heart rushes every time I remember or think about that. For my France was more than tourism it was a beautiful experience that made me love that country more than I already was.
